Nostradamus and Pope Francis

   Prophecy skeptics are always asking someone to show them a Nostradamus prediction BEFORE it happens. Well here it is! This prophecy is backed up by the Third Secret of Fatima in 1917, the St. Malachy prophecy of 1143 AD, and even Rev. William Miller's Bible prophecy of 1844. In 2013 when Pope Francis was first elected, the Saint Malachy prophecy on "Petrus Romanus" the pope who would witness the destruction of Rome, was the most popular story on the Internet. But the prophet Nostradamus had also warned of the ruin of Rome in Quatrain #10-65, and told us that Rome would suffer ruin as the result of a statement issued by Pope Francis I that would inflame Muslims and result in a retaliatory attack upon the holy city.

   Oh vast Rome, thy ruin approaches,

   Ou vaste Romme, ta ruyne s'approche,

   Not of thy walls, but of thy blood and substance;

   Non de tes murs, de ton sang substance;

   The bite of thine utterings will be such a horrible snip,

   L'aspre par lettres fera si horrible coche,

   The point of the blade thrust all the way to the handle.

   Fer poinctu mis a tous jusques au manche.

   Quatrain #10-65: In this quatrain Nostradamus says that an inflammatory statement will be made by the Pope about Islam, that will result in a retaliatory attack upon Rome. This Nostradamus quatrain, the St. Malachy prophecy, and the Third Secret of Fatima all seem to be describing this exact same event. In this quatrain Nostradamus tells us that Rome's buildings won't be destroyed, only its people and idols.

   The previous Saint Malachy prophecy was published in 1143 AD by the Irish Archbishop, Malachy O'Morgair, who recorded the Prophecy of the Popes, a list of 112 future popes who would occupy the papacy from the papacy of Celestine II, to the final papacy of "Petrus Romanus," the pope who would witness the destruction of Rome. According to prophecy followers, Pope Francis I is "Pietro of Romano" (Latin: Petrus Romanus), the last pope on St. Malachy's list. When pope Francis I was first elected to the papacy he chose to be called after St. Francis "de Pietro" of Assisi and it is known that his family came out of the town of "Romano" in northern Italy.

   These two prophecies are also supported by the Third Secret of Fatima that further describes the event in great detail. The Third Fatima Secret also states that the pope will be executed by soldiers who have apparently invaded the holy city. The latest prophetic threat against Rome was the 1961 Garabandal prophecy that stated Rome might suffer the future wrath of God because "Cardinals, bishops and priests are following the road to perdition, and taking many souls along with them." This warning to Rome concerning the sexual abuses going on in the Catholic Church wasn't addressed by Church officials at the time, and also might be responsible for the predicted ruin of Rome. The Ottoman Empire was the most recent enemy of Rome, but the Ottoman Empire has not existed for many decades. Recent U.S. efforts to remove Middle East dictators from power however, have created a political void that has now been filled by the new Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), which is once again seeking to pursue its war against Christianity and its base in Rome.

   So now we have a frightening future event predicted by the biblical prophets, that occurs under the papacy of a pope described by St. Malachy, detailed in a Fatima vision, and supported by Nostradamus Quatrain #10-65 that predicts Rome will be attacked as a result of a statement by the Vatican will inflame Muslims and cause the occupants and idols of Rome to suffer ruin.

   It is incredible however, that the United States government would be the driving force behind the resurrection of the Ottoman empire, and it is even more incredible that the Catholic Church isn't paying any attention to its own prophecies about this coming attack on Rome and the papacy. These prophecies were meant to warn of future events, but the Church appears to be totally ignoring them.
