Nostradamus and
Louis Pasteur

    This famous Nostradamus quatrain about Louis Pasteur is one of the most well known of all the Nostradamus quatrains. In this poem Nostradamus mentions Pasteur's name and describes his revolutionary discovery of the long-hidden microbe. Nostradamus then states that Pasteur becomes the object of ridicule by members of the European medical community.

     NOSTRADAMUS QUATRAIN #1 - 25

   The unseen is revealed, hidden for such a long time,

   Perdue trouve, cache de si long seicle,

   He will, Pasteur, as a demi-God be honored;

   Sera Pasteur demi-Dieu honore;

   This is when the moon completes her great cycle,

   Ains que la lune acheve son grand seicle,

   But through slander by others, he will be dishonored.

   Par autre vents, sera dishonore.

   This is another case where Nostradamus actually uses a real name in one of his quatrains. In this poem Nostradamus describes Louis Pasteur's revelation of the long-hidden microbe. Pasteur's discovery eventually led to the "pasteurization" of milk, the development of rabies vaccine, the sterilization of medical instruments, and many other major changes in the field of medicine. Unfortunately Louis Pasteur altered many long standing medical concepts in Europe and was slandered by some of his jealous colleagues in the European medical community. Nostradamus dates the prophecy using the Roussat Moon Cycle (1535-1888). Modern scientists still cannot explain how Nostradamus was able to record this famous prophecy over 250 years before Pasteur was born.
