This famous Nostradamus quatrain about Louis Pasteur is one of the most well known of all the Nostradamus quatrains. In this poem Nostradamus not only includes Pasteur's name, but also describes Louis Pasteur's revelation of the long-hidden world of the microbe. Nostradamus then goes on to include the date when the event will take place by referencing the end of the Great Cycle of the Moon (Roussat 1887).
NOSTRADAMUS QUATRAIN #1 - 25
The unseen is revealed, hidden for such a long time,
Perdue trouve, cache de si long seicle,
He will, Pasteur, as a demi-God be honored;
Sera Pasteur demi-Dieu honore;
This is when the moon completes her great cycle,
Ains que la lune acheve son grand seicle,
But through slander by others, he will be dishonored.
Par autre vents, sera dishonore.

Louis Pasteur's amazing discoveries in the science of microbiology completely revolutionized the field of medicine. The pasteurization of milk, rabies vaccine, the sterilization of medical instruments, all these things came out of Pasteur's work. Pasteur's revolutionary discoveries challenged existing medical procedures in Europe, and resulted in Pasteur becoming an object of slander and ridicule by his jealous colleagues in the European medical community. Modern scientists are still at a loss to explain how Nostradamus was able to acccomplish this incredible feat of prophecy, over 250 years before Pasteur was born.
